Michelle Carlyle is the CEO of Be Centre which is a not-for-profit organisation that provides Play Therapy for children (aged 3-12 years) who have experienced trauma. Play Therapy is well-known and highly-regarded in the UK and USA. Be Centre is proud to be pioneering Play Therapy in Australia.
Michelle is also the owner/director of Thought Ratio which delivers evidence-based psychological training to teenagers and adults so they can thrive in life.
Prior to working in the not-for-profit sector, Michelle’s experience was in large multi-national corporations.
From 1999 to 2014 she worked with two of the world’s largest publishers, Wolters Kluwer and Pearson. Her most recent role was Vice President, Higher Education, Australia/Singapore where she managed a large team of sales professionals, marketing specialists, instructional designers, and other content specialists. This role was during a period of intense digital disruption to the publishing industry and education sector so Michelle was involved in local, regional, and global projects to manage the business transition.
Prior to that she was General Manager of the Vocational division where she achieved year-on-year growth over six years, won a multi-million-dollar tender, successfully integrated several acquisitions, and won several industry awards for product development/design.
Michelle has a Master of Business Administration (Southern Cross University), is a Graduate of the Company Directors course, a Fellow at the Institute of Leaders and Managers, and a member of the Institute of Learning Professionals.
