Biography
Since 1986, Cyril has taught commercial and legal subjects on a sessional basis at many universities and colleges. He has taught at all levels, from vocational education to postgraduate, and focuses on executive education.
Since 1987, he has run a business improvement advisory and training business and works twice weekly at UBSS. For the rest of the week, he works as an accountant in his business improvement and accounting practice (Cyril Jankoff Certified Practising Accountant) and a solicitor in his legal practice (Jankoff Solicitors). He is a frequent circuit speaker in business improvement, focusing on procurement, sales, and contact management. He frequently runs one- and two-day professional development in-house and public seminars in Australia and internationally. He also speaks at conferences. In May 2023, he was an APAC mentor for the World Commerce and Contracting Leaders of the Future Team, and in June, he was an APAC judge for the WCC Innovation & Excellence Awards 2023. He was also a Judge in 2024.
Cyril’s doctorate consisted of two parts: business and education. The former is related to business improvement, and the latter is related to training managers, their staff, and external advisers to run the business more effectively.
He has written three business improvement books: Managing Your Contracts, Managing Your Legal Issues and Managing Your Numbers. He has also co-authored five books: Business War Stories from the Trenches, What Can We Learn from Everyday Successful Australian Entrepreneurs, Ethical Business Dilemmas, Managing Your Negotiations and MBA in a Nutshell. He has also contributed chapters to seven books.
Cyril focuses on teaching and administering executive-level students. His teaching philosophy is that he believes in ‘practical education’, that what you learn today must be applicable tomorrow, and that this education should be engaging and informative. Cyril can provide current business practices using quality case studies through his professional activities.
He is an Associate Professor at UBSS, Associate Dean – Scholarship, and a member of the GCA Compliance Directorate.
